On August 11, National Written and Spoken Chinese Language Institute of Guizhou (hereafter referred to as “the Institute”) was inaugurated in conference room II of the second phase of Confucius Academy. More than 100 experts and scholars from both Guizhou and other provinces witnessed this historic moment.
The Institute, under the guidance of Guizhou Social Science Association, is an academic and non-profit social organization composed of individual and organizational members. According to ZHONG Hua, president of the Institute and professor of Guizhou Minzu University, the Institute was inaugurated at Confucius Academy because work on written and spoken language corresponded to the latter training and service missions on Chinese classics, and development of traditional Chinese culture was inseparable from written and spoken language. She said that the Institute would be committed to integrating Chinese classics with Confucius Academy for inheritance and development of excellent traditional Chinese culture.
ZHOU Zhijiang, Deputy Director of the Cultural Communication Center of Guiyang Confucius Academy, said that the Center would fully support and work with the Institute to make due contributions to the development of excellent traditional Chinese culture.
