On September 14, Guizhou Meets Cantonese - Intangible Cultural Heritage Music’ concert was held at Guiyang Confucius Academy. Based on the theme of intangible cultural heritage, Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble from Hong Kong and Chinese Orchestra of Guizhou Province presented a musical feast to their audience from Guiyang.
The event was hosted by Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Chengdu (CDETO) of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Guizhou Provincial Department of Culture and Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of People’s Government of Guizhou province, and supported by Cultural Communication Center of Guiyang Confucius Academy. As a superb play invited to attend “2018 Amazing Guizhou Cultural and Art Festival”, it was designed to promote cultural exchanges between Guizhou and Hong Kong.
“Today’s performance and exhibition made me aware of the unique culture of Hong Kong. Its collision with Guizhou culture helped me realize that despite geographical differences, we relate emotionally to each other. Now the high-speed rail from Guiyang to Hong Kong has opened, making it more convenient to travel there.” said HE Meng, a local citizen.
