On November 23, the Awarding Ceremony of the First “Top Ten Brands of Cultural Industry” and Colorful Guizhou Cultural and Creative Design Competition was held in Guizhou Province. Confucius Academy was reputed as the “Top Ten Brand” of the cultural industry in Guizhou Province in 2018.
MU Degui, member of the Standing Committee and Minister of the Publicity Department of CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee, HE Li, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Guizhou Provincial People’s Congress, and WANG Shijie, Vice Governor of Guizhou Provincial Government attended the ceremony. Principal heads of publicity and cultural institutions under direct provincial administration, municipal publicity departments, departments for cultural reform and development and other departments were present at the event.
Completed on September 28, 2012, Confucius Academy was officially opened on January 1, 2013. Over the past five years, it has offered more than 600 public lectures on traditional Chinese culture and created brands for cultural experiences including “Four Season Debate”, “Xi Shan Ta Ge” series of performances and “Xi Shan Han Ji” painting and calligraphy exhibition by adhering to the principle of “creative transformation and innovative development”. It is committed to benefitting the public through culture, promoting the essential excellent traditional culture and carrying forward the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation. Since the inception, Confucius Academy has held international high-end academic forums to advance research and communication of excellent traditional Chinese culture, develop cultural awareness, and enhance cultural self-confidence to carry forward splendid traditional Chinese culture, cultivate and practice the core values of socialism and follow the principle of “preserving traditional culture and absorbing foreign wisdom for the future”. Currently, it has been gradually established into an education and training base on traditional culture for educational activities, research and tourism.
