At 7:30 PM on October 12, the Hulusi Concert by Li Chunhua of the activity series of Singing Poems and Hulusi Music on Xishan started at Yangming Auditorium in Guiyang Confucius Academy. The concert was organized by the Culture Communication Center of Guiyang Confucius Academy, and hosted by the Promotion and Research Institute of Chinese Music of Guiyang Confucius Academy.
Hulusi, also known as huluxiao, is an old and mysterious musical instrument featuring profound traditional culture with a history of more than 2,000 years. Hulusi, with its elegant and soft tone, is easy to learn, thus having attracted more and more people in recent years.
During the concert, Shen Cheng, Dean of the Promotion and Research Institute of Chinese Music of Guiyang Confucius Academy and a famous hulusi player, served as the art director, and Li Chunhua, Deputy Director of National Music Promotion Committee of China Nationalities Orchestra Society and national first-class hulusi performer known as “Chinese Prince of Hulusi”, together with young hulusi players including Tu Zhimin, Zhang He and You Shiqian, brought an excellent hulusi concert to local people.
During the concert, Li Chunhua, who composed many of the songs played in the concert, played Son of the Mountains and Glowing Red Morningstar Lilies, thus bringing the audience an audio-visual feast. Son of the Mountains has integrated the music elements of Jingpo people, and through the performance of the player, the feeling of respect and admiration for the mountains and the Jingpo people has been displayed. Glowing Red Morningstar Lilies has praised the love of people in northern Shaanxi for the Chinese Communist Party in a plain and natural way, which revealed the scene of their life and happiness, and attracted the audience with its beautiful and broad melody.
At the end of the concert, four players performed I Love You China, a renowned and grand song, and the audience all spontaneously started to sing the song. In the voice of the audience and the performance of the players, the concert ended perfectly, but the participants were still excited. Many audiences said they were very happy to enjoy such a high-quality hulusi performance in Guiyang and hoped there would be more and more excellent national music performances at Guiyang Confucius Academy.
