On October 9, 2021, Annual Meeting of Chinese Confucian Academy and Seminar on “Modern Transformation of Chinese Philosophy of Mind” was held at Guiyang Confucius Academy, inviting more than 100 experts and scholars on Confucianism from all over the country to participate in and discuss the development of Confucianism. The event was co-organized by Chinese Confucian Academy, the Cultural Communication Center of Guiyang Confucius Academy, and Lu Jiuyuan Research Committee of Chinese Confucian Academy.
The seminar on the development of Philosophy of Mind held in Guizhou this time, a place where Wang Yangming achieved enlightenment and created Philosophy of Mind, attracted attention from all parties. At the opening ceremony, Gu Jiu, former Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Guizhou Provincial People’s Congress, Director of Institute of Culture and History of Guizhou Province, and Chairman of Guizhou Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Xu Jing, Executive Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and Chairman of Guizhou Federation of Humanities and Social Sciences Circles, Wang Zhongjiang, President of Chinese Confucian Academy and Professor of Peking University, Guo Qiyong, Chairman of Academic Committee of Guiyang Confucius Academy and Advisor of the Lu Jiuyuan Research Committee of Chinese Confucian Academy, Xu Qi, Vice Chairman of International Confucian Association, Executive Chairman of the Academic Committee of Guiyang Confucius Academy, and President of Guizhou Association of Philosophy, and Suo Xiaoxia, Party Secretary and Director of the Cultural Communication Center of Guiyang Confucius Academy attended the conference.
After the opening ceremony, 15 experts and scholars, including Gu Jiu, Guo Qiyong, Xu Qi, Zhang Xinmin, Wu Zhen, and Ding Weixiang, delivered keynote speeches, expounding their research on the history of Philosophy of Mind and its contemporary value.
During the two-day conference, themed with “Modern Transformation of Chinese Philosophy of Mind,” the experts and scholars focused on the creative development and innovative transformation of Chinese Philosophy of Mind, and conducted discussions from aspects of its ideological resources, characteristics in different eras, and contemporary value through keynote speeches and group discussions.
Attendees of the conference included more than 120 experts and scholars from over 70 universities, research institutes, and cultural organizations, including Peking University, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing Normal University, Capital Normal University, Fudan University, East China Normal University, Shaanxi Normal University, Wuhan University, Sun Yat-sen University, Nanchang University, Hunan University, Jinan University, Nankai University, Guizhou University, Guizhou Normal University, and Confucius Research Institute and Mencius Research Institute of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies.
